What is Humble Walk?
Humble Walk is a calling out to Christians who feel burned out or left out from their churches or even the Lord, Himself.
This is not a church. This is not a ministry.
Humble Walk is a resource.
Humble Walk is a self-funded website designed to address the questions of discouraged believers. We do not offer dogmatic answers. Instead, we share some thoughts on difficult topics and point toward a path that may allow our Lord to speak answers to the questions on your heart.
Humble Walk also serves as the home website for Lilac Ministries, our primary ministry work, and for our BASIC Worship which is an hour of active silence in that Manner of Friends (Quakers). Although we are not affiliated with any Friends Conference, their manner of silent worship allows distractions to fall away so that God's voice is more clearly heard.
Why Humble Walk?
There are a LOT of you out there who have faith in Christ, but are no longer attending church. Some of you have been hurt by people you thought you could trust, abandoned by people because of a mistake you made ... or were accused of making. Others are disgusted by church politics (internal and external), unable to "connect" with God, or too burned out with church ministries to even care about God anymore. Still others work on Sundays and just can't attend.
We believe our Great Shepherd is looking upon the lot of us as sheep who need to find a new pasture. Humble Walk is a website for helping believers like you. At a minimum, you will discover you are not alone. At best, we pray you'll find a revitalized walk with Christ and a renewed hope in life.
We use some unique terms on this website - you can find their meanings on the "Terms" page.
Humble Walk is maintained by "Brett" and "Donna." We are Christians who have served with various denominations over many years (Quaker, Baptist, Catholic, Methodist, Assembly of God, Lutheran, United Church of Christ) to name a few) and are each currently very actively involved in mainstream, local churches. We have been ministry partners to local nursing homes and visiting shut-ins since 1999. We are married to separate spouses (over 30 years, each), but share a common heart of compassion for believers without a church home. We hope the Lord will establish Humble Walk as a place of healing and direction for those who've been turned off by "organized religion."
Who is Humble Walk affiliated with?
Humble Walk is not affiliated in any way with any organization. This is an endeavor we've mulled upon and prayed about for many years. We now sense Christ asking us to move forward in pure faith.
