Message [Brett]: John 3:17 reminds us that God sent His Son NOT to judge, but to heal and to save. If we desire to be sons and daughters of God (those who “look like” God), we do well NOT to sit in judgment of other people, but rather to participate in God’s intent to heal. In Revelation, Christ urges one particular church to be a comforting, soothing influence - like the hot springs of a city to its northwest or like the cold water of a city to its south. The city in which the church was located boasted a beautiful fountain, but its water supply was foul. God wanted the believers of that city to draw their sustenance from HIM, rather than from their earthly resources (Rev 3:14-18). May WE seek and find strength in God and be quick to offer refreshment to others.
