57 WE THREE KINGS
Message [Brett]: When Mary and Joseph presented Jesus in the temple, 40 days after Christmas, Simeon and Anna rejoiced in the privilege of seeing, with their own eyes, “the light of the Gentiles,” “the glory of Israel,” and “the redemption of Jerusalem.” Their waiting is a parable of OUR waiting. The seasons of Advent and Christmas invite us to reach into the dark and weary places of our hearts, drawing out of those places our hurts and disappointments, our hopes and dreams, so that God the Father may touch them with the light of His Son. May we rejoice as we await the kingdom of God, where heaven and earth will be one. May we celebrate the ALREADY and the NOT YET of God’s promises to His people - and to US.
