Message [Brett]: God offers us His friendship. He created us to cling to Him “as the waistband clings to the waist of a man” (Jer 13:11). And He created us to be a beautiful diadem in His hand (Is 62:3). Jesus noted that He had “nowhere to lay His head” (Matt 8:20), but perhaps our willingness to respond to Him becomes His “pillow.” When Abigail blessed David (1 Sam 25:29), she asked God to keep David safe in His “bundle,” which would have served as His “headrest” at night!
