Summary of the Gathering
We had a very Spirit filled, energetic gathering this month! We spent time looking at the story of the man healed of blindness; we considered how this blessing brought him rejection from his community and his family, but affirmation and strength from God.
Those present were asked "How do you face the "alone" times?"
Our experiences included:
Being shunned from church communities.
Being left behind by a spouse.
Recovering from a coma.
Drifting away from God
Our insights included:
Several of us kept journals, helping us to see our Lord's blessings over time.
Resolution took several years to begin to see change. Some are still in the midst of it.
Perspective changes such as not asking "When did you receive Christ?" but realizing "Christ received ME to Himself!"
Redemption and recovery sometimes require a great spiritual wrestling, like Jacob did with the Angel of the Lord. We wrestle to defeat the doubts within us.
Honestly - these few words can not capture the energy and depth of the stories of the nine people present. There was so much sharing and connecting. There was a great spiritual diversity within the group that was united by the common bond in Christ. The Lord was profoundly present with us that evening.
